A chocolatier from L.A. Burdick came to our office today with samples of their handmade chocolate.
Listening to him describe chocolate to us, it sounded a lot like how a sommelier would describe wine. He mentioned how wild cocoa has “floral notes with a medium body.” He also recommended not pairing red wine with chocolate, as that is a waste of wine, in his opinion.
I tried the almond chamomile, hazelnut and earl grey bon bons as well as a cognac truffle. I enjoyed the almond chamomile bon bon the most, but they’re all high-quality chocolates so they all taste good.
I’ve been to their New York location before to drink hot chocolate and buy some mice (cute!). Wouldn’t mind going back there again.
